Aunt Maggie's Mojo OR
The Devil in Angel Brown

a novel by Patricia R. Corbett

A little more than three months ago Chosani looked at her Agogo long and hard. Sani was worried because her grandmother’s long garments now hung from her frail body. Age had traced a path across grandmother’s face. Sani watched Agogo’s tired eyes squinting upward into the dark. Sani was the eldest of the three granddaughters and she knew to show respect for Agogo's knowing by silencing her lips when her grandmother stared into the sky. But Sani could not hold words in her mouth. She hesitated, then whispered, “Agogo, what are you knowing?”
